We have a community of experienced therapists who have been practicing on average for 3+ years. All of our therapists go through a rigorous hiring process to ensure they adhere to evidence-based care. In addition, many of our therapists have specialties in areas ranging from orthopedics to sports medicine to geriatrics. As part of your onboarding, we collect information from you about your condition and match you with a therapist experienced in treating your condition. This way you are seeing a therapist who understands your condition and can personalize your treatments.
Kins currently operates in New York City and the Greater Boston area for hybrid services. Kins also provides virtual specialty care in the states of New York, Massachusetts, Florida, Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC.
Kins therapists meet patients in their homes, gyms, offices and other agreed-upon locations.
Kins Physical Therapists are independent contractors. This means all therapists receive a 1099 at the end of the year.
The benefits of working as an independent contractor:
1) Flexibility: Set your own hours, take PTO when it works for you, no holiday or weekend requirements
2) Autonomy: Make your own schedule, determine the caseload that works best for you, and enjoy the freedom to utilize evidence-based practices
You do! The beauty of Kins is that you control when and where you work.
Our Kins web-based app allows you to set your weekly availability, Out-of-Office time and the zip code area you want to see patients in.
Kins’ patient-centered care model prioritizes 1:1 care for 55-60 minutes.
Visits are done either in-person or via telehealth. Telehealth visits are done through our Kins App. Goals of a telehealth visit and an in-person visit are the same.
Our therapists are responsible for any supplies they may want to use in a treatment session. Most therapists travel lightly and get creative with what’s available in the patient’s home (think soup cans and broomsticks).
We encourage Point-of-Service documentation and expect all documentation to be completed within 24 hours of the visit.
Point-of-Service documentation helps ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Working as a therapist at Kins allows for treatment autonomy. We encourage you to follow evidence-based treatment approaches, and showcase your expertise through patient education on pain science, self-management, prognosis, exercise interventions, and more.
Multiple studies including systematic reviews and meta-analysis, report telehealth is as effective as in-person to reduce pain and improve function.
At Kins, we believe that a hybrid care model including in-person and telehealth improves accessibility and adherence. The best physical therapy program is the one that your patients can stick to.
Kins brings the outpatient physical therapy experience into the patient’s home (or office, gym, local track, etc.) or device.
Kins patients are highly-motivated and seek the convenience of in-home care. Kins patients are not home-bound and should not require high-levels of assistance or supportive services.
We’ll assign patients to your caseload if they match with your availability and zip code area - both of which you set for yourself. Ultimately, our goal is to help you meet your goals (financially and professionally).
If you see a gap in your community or want to make your services known - the Kins Marketing Kit comes with everything you need to market yourself.
At Kins, we believe that learning never stops. Whether you have 2 or 20 years of experience, we foster a community of knowledge-sharing and clinical excellence.
We do this through:
Even though we are all working on our own time and pace, we pride ourselves in recreating the clinic camaraderie in a remote workforce.
Kins’ Customer Service Team verifies every patient who schedules an appointment with one of our therapists.
We encourage every therapist to perform a courtesy call prior to an initial evaluation - this call is an opportunity to introduce yourselves and set the expectations for the visit.
Kins stands by our anti-discrimination and harassment policy for all of our therapists.
Yes we do! We offer telehealth only positions for our specialty areas including: Pelvic Health PTs (Men's and Women's), Complex Chronic Care, and Gender Affirming Care offered across the entire states of NY, MA, DC, VA, and MD.
At Kins, we only pay for appointments that were completed. In our model physical therapists see their patients one on one for the entire hour of care and practice in an outpatient environment with a diverse patient population (entirely unique from home-health). We founded Kins to combat the burnout common in traditional outpatient care, and not guaranteeing volume is one way we maintain an outpatient model without productivity requirements.
That said, we understand that your satisfaction depends on reaching your desired capacity. During onboarding, we work closely with each therapist to align volume expectations with patient demand. Ramp-up periods vary based on location and preferred caseload, but we ensure ongoing conversations to help you reach your goals.
