When no insurance authorization or medical records release is required we can see patient’s as quickly as 48 hours. When authorizations and / or medical records are required we can commit to 48 hours from receipt. What we have seen so far on average is that patient’s choose initial evaluation appointments between 6-10 days.
We are in-network with most major commercial insurances and medicare. Your patient’s cost with Kins will always be the exact same as if they visited a traditional physical therapy clinic.
We do not have a physical location. Instead, for patient convenience our physical therapists come to their home/office/gym receiving care in-person or virtually via telehealth.
BOSTON: Greater Boston inside the N-95 belt, but we also have therapists in are as such as:
Worcester
Rockport
Salem
Swampscott
Norton
NEW YORK: We have therapists that cover areas of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx.
Kins therapists spend a full 45-55 minutes with patients at each appointment, which is 3x more than at a traditional clinic. With that extra time, our therapists are able to listen carefully to your patient’s unique needs and tailor a plan of care for your patient’s specific lifestyle so that they can heal faster.
The best physical therapy program is the one that patients stick to. 70% of patients drop out from physical therapy partly because of the time wasted in commute and in waiting rooms. Kins helps patients stick with their program by bringing physical therapy to them. Kins patient retention rate is 89% vs 30% in a clinic setting. Most physical therapy programs do not require a facility or clinic setting.
In fact, multiple studies have shown that in-home and telehealth programs are equally effective in driving clinical outcomes. Kins is showing that 82% of their patients have shown significant improvement in their Quality of Life outcomes with 96% of long-term goals set at the beginning of the care plan achieved.
Kins is just like an outpatient PT clinic, but we bring the clinic to the patient.
Our model is not designed for those that require home health e.g. combination of nursing, PT, OT needs and needing high levels of physical and personal assistance, or where highly specialized equipment is needed (wound care, pneumatic compression, hoists, or other specialized needs).
Physical Therapists utilize everyday household items, allowing patients to perform exercises on their own between treatments to enhance recovery. We also bring our own tools, like a foam roller or a lumbar support cushion for the patient to try. Then we show them where to purchase online.
The beauty of physical therapy in the home is that the treatment is tailored to the patient’s living environment. Context is key in therapy, so a patient performing exercises with the items they use every day generates a high level of functional carryover and yields better outcomes.
Our service provides treatment for all major musculoskeletal (MSK) & Orthopedic issues, neurological, geriatric and pediatric conditions (orthopedic & MSK ages 7+).
Our model is not designed for those that require home health (high levels of physical and personal assistance) or where highly specialized equipment is needed (wound care, pneumatic compression, hoists, or other specialized needs).
PTs will provide patient’s 1:1 care for 45min to 1hour in their home or virtually. This is really a different experience than in some clinical settings where a patient may only spend 15 min with a PT and continue the rest of their care with an assistant. With Kins the patient is given the choice and what is most convenient for them.
Our PTs focuses on patient centered care which includes:
Care responsive to the individual context of the patientShared decision making where the PT really focuses on the patient’s specific goals and treatment preference. Kins PTs follow guideline-oriented (CPG’s) and evidence based-modalities which include:

Yes. We believe that great care starts with a strong relationship between the therapist and patient. Therefore, we make it a priority that patients see the same therapist for every appointment with us.
We have a community of experienced therapists who have been practicing on average for 3+ years. All of our therapists go through a rigorous hiring process to ensure they adhere to evidence-based care. In addition, many of our therapists have specialties in areas ranging from orthopedics to sports medicine to geriatrics. As part of your onboarding, we collect information from you about your condition and match you with a therapist experienced in treating your condition. This way you are seeing a therapist who understands your condition and can personalize your treatments.
